I drew at Liberty Wildlife's Open House last week. Liberty does a lot for wildlife but they are also a wedding venue. But what I did really learn last week? Eagles are big-ass birds.
You see them on flags, stamps, etc. and you THINK you know them until you're face to face with one. Not only are they about twice the size as I thought they were, but they look tough. When the wind blew the handlers of the hawks pulled the birds back down. When the eagle pulled the handler, the handler had to put his body weight into. You could tell immediately how powerful the eagle was.
It's no coincidence why Bald Eagles are our nation's symbol.
